Bio’s are always the worst right? You have to sit there and try to distill your life and “major accomplishments” into a few hundred words! SO, about me …
Let’s start forward and work our way back, I currently serve as the managing editor of the Pine Bluffs Post, a small weekly newspaper in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. If you’ve never heard of Pine Bluffs, you’d be forgiven; it’s a small town on the eastern Wyoming/Nebraska border. I’m here with my wife and love of my life, Tahra, and our son, Kerouac. I recently went back into the National Guard and serve with a unit in Casper (makes for long drives to drill). I’m also currently in school trying to finish out my degree in PolySci. Because I’m not busy enough, I also own and run a record label, Helltrain Records, with my partner and musician, J.B. Beverley and I serve on the Laramie County Fire District No. 5, volunteer fire department.
Prior to Wyoming, I worked as a combat journalist in the National Guard spending time in Arizona working with the U.S. Border Patrol, I was in New Orleans immediately following Hurricane Katrina, been to Central America and spent 16 months deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom II (2004-2005). It blows me away – I did four years active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps and went virtually nowhere and six years in the National Guard and I feel like I’ve been everywhere!
In my political leanings, I’m definitely left of center which is a monumental undertaking in small town Wyoming. I miss my home of San Francisco more than anyone could ever know.
That’s good for now, anything more, drop me a line
